Greetings!

These four beautiful beeves, as seen in the above photo on Janzen Family Farms brome, have been grazing on our pastures for just over two years. That means a new supply of our marbled, tender JFF grass-fed beef will be available for you soon! To that end, we have four processing slots reserved at Peabody Sausage House—two in November and two in December.

Amid the pandemic, demand has been high, so please order soon to secure your portion. Locker purchases (in which you pick up your order directly from the butcher) are only available for halves and wholes. Orders are reserved on a first-come, first-served basis. (Please note that for now, we are maintaining the same prices, but in order to keep sustainable farming financially sustainable for the farmers, we are expecting to increase prices next year.)

To order, just fill out an order form and return it with a deposit of half the estimated final amount. Feel free to pay by check or credit card. Please make checks out to Janzen Family Farms and mail to the farm at JFF, 15076 NW 180th, Newton, KS 67114. To pay with your credit card, please call John at 316-882-4877.

For more info, check out our website! Don’t miss our “Guide to Slaughter, Cuts of Meat & Preparation,” and for a detailed understanding of the prices and cuts, see the spreadsheet of “Cuts, Weights and Prices of a Sample Animal, which provides one particular example. For additional questions, feel free to call us at 316-882-4877 or email john@janzenfamilyfarms.com or kristi@janzenfamilyfarms.com.

As always, thank you for your interest in our farm and your business!

Best wishes, The Janzens

P.S. On the attached PDF, you will find more recent photos of the native prairie where our cattle live most of the time (unless they are on the organic crop land). Kristi took the pictures during family trips to the farm this summer. We were so grateful to be able to catch up on some togetherness for birthdays, a giant Janzen reunion, and farm meetings in both June and August. We hope these images give you a sense of the splendor of the prairie, and how the same place can reveal new beauty every moment.
