Great Value!

You can keep costs down by buying a side of beef -- or a portion of one -- all at once. Bulk sales help us minimize overhead, logistics and waste, thus allowing us to give you the highest quality meat at the best value. "Going in" with friends or neighbors can make it especially easy to buy in bulk.

Buy in Bulk!

If you choose a bulk purchase, you can request a half, quarter or eighth. If you buy a quarter, you will receive a "half of a half," not the front or rear quarter. An eighth represents a similar division of a half. A half amounts to approximately 300 pounds of packaged meat.

Bulk Deals

If you buy in bulk, you will receive a wide array of steaks, roasts, ground beef and other items such as soup bones, organ meats and ribs, according to the "standard" way that our slaughterer cuts the meat. ("Other items" may vary, depending on availability.) Steaks are typically cut at a one-inch thickness. Roasts are usually cut to around three or four pounds.


While most people are quite happy with this "standard cut," there are other options. In particular, customers purchasing large bulk orders may make special requests, as the slaughterhouse that we work with can custom-cut an animal. In short, if you have special requests, they (and we!) would be happy to try to accommodate them. Please let us know. Also on bulk orders, please tell us if you do or do not wish to receive organ meats. (And, even if you are not a bulk purchaser, please let us know how you feel about the cuts you receive!)
It’s worth noting here that many parts of the animal can be cut into various kinds of steaks or roasts, and some of the same cuts have different names, depending on the butcher or the customary name in a certain region. Please see our "Guide to Slaughter, Cuts and Cooking," also under the heading "Grass-Fed Beef," to find out details.

We have restructured our pricing to make bulk purchases more attractive, in an effort to better reward our most loyal customers, reduce confusion, and streamline our sales. In particular, as you will note, we have:
  • lowered our deal for a whole or half to $4.50 per pound (from $5.50 per pound);
  • Reduced our deal on quarters and eighths to $5.00 a pound (from $6.00 and $6.50 a pound, respectively); and
  • adjusted our “pack deals” so they offer a straight 25% discount off the individual prices.
We hope this makes ordering simpler and better for everyone! We sincerely thank you for your business.
